Hand Shovel Sign

One of my favorite things to do is estate sale and thrift store shop. I will be sharing many posts on this topic!

In the project that I am sharing with you today, I found an old hand shovel that was probably headed to the trash.

I cleaned it up and used my chalk pastes and transfers to create a decorative Spring board to hang in the garden with the potted plants.  I painted the shovel in chalk paint, sanded it a bit to bring some of the “old” back and then used chalk pastes and transfers to add color.

Once both pieces were dry, I used E6000 to attach the shovel to the board and a cute sign is born. You never know what you may find that just needs a little “clean up” and a new purpose!
